Colophon Page
Web Standards
This site is created using XHTML 1.0 transitional, PHP 5, and CSS 3. I did this to become familiar with the latest standards, to become more valuable to the market. My site is optimized to have the highest rating possible with current search engines. All my pictures are 40k or less initially.
Usability
This site is designed to be compatible for all browsers, especially for disabled people. Tables have captions for those who listen to websites read to them. Headings are made larger for ease of recognition. Tabs are highlighted as well as the title of the site being displayed in the content pane. The title of the website also appears in the tab for the browser. The site has an Icon for the tab in the browser as well. This icon appears when the site is bookmarked also. The site is uniform and has a determined look throughout the whole site, allowing a more professional look. Also, padding has been applied to every pane to make the user more comfortable with the borders and spacing, being more pleasant to the eye.
SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
In order to increase my search ratings I have included the domain name in all of my titles for links. I have also created my web pages with correct use of tables. Tables make data less searchable for search engines if the frame of the site is dependant upon them. This site uses CSS 3 to avoid falling into the table trap. Each site uses the h2 tag for identifying the titles of each page. Titles are searched and used for keywords in websites.
ROI (Return On Investment)
Because I have implemented strict standards for search-ability, including the correct use of tables, CSS, including titles for keywords on search engines, created consistency across the website, and made the usability of the site accessible to most audiences, if not all, the site should attract and keep users who visit. The purpose of this site is to provide information for clients of KA PC Services, and to help potential users find useful information. I have used Google Analytics to further research users who visit my site so that I can continually update the site to fit my audience.
